What is repetition?
And what are its benefits?
And what are its harms?
What is the relationship between it and the human mind?
What is the conscious mind and the unconscious mind?
Does a person have one brain or more?
All this and more we will know in this article, God willing
Repetition: simply doing the same thing over and over again.
If there are two main elements in the process of repetition, the first is action and the second is time, meaning that we need to do the same thing at different times, and this is what we do in our repetitive daily life, as if we wake up daily from sleep at a specific hour and go to work from the same way and so on.
Benefits:
1- Mastering the verb itself.
2 - Installing new information.
3- Gaining experience in the act itself.
4- Doing the thing with less effort and more efficiently.
5- Doing something without stress or anxiety.
Let's give an example:
Suppose you want to buy a car and want to learn to drive.
In your first step to teach you driving skills, your concentration is at its highest, and you feel a little anxious and nervous, and you stay that way until you put your feet on the ground again after your first driving experience.
With the repetition of the action day after day, all those disturbances and emotions will disappear and you will become more efficient and able to lead in a good way, and what gained you that efficiency is the process of repetition,
So much so that when you get in your car heading to work and come across more than one traffic light, you almost hit a pedestrian on the road had you not pressed the brake piston and continued walking and getting to work and all this while you were talking on the phone with one of your friends about your new project so that when you get to work you will not remember What happened with you while walking, so far we believe that the concept has become clear to us.
damages:
But although repetition has benefits, it also suffers from some disadvantages, including, for example, but not limited to:
1- It is difficult for a person to break bad habits:
This is when a person repeats his action at different times, but it is not an impossible thing. Every new day is the beginning of a new life.
2- Boredom:
Many times we get bored of repeating the same action, especially the daily routine, such as waking up from sleep to go to work and returning from work to go to sleep without there being anything new.
3- Obsessive-compulsive disorder:
This is considered one of the most dangerous harms of repetition, as when a person repeats the act based on his belief that he did not do it well the first time, he repeats it to make sure of its validity, such as repeating the process of washing hands more than once for the suspicion that it was not washed well the first time, and so on. We list a special article on this matter and how to recover from it, God willing, in simple and easy ways.
The relationship between it and the human mind:
Repetition is the first means that the mind uses to store new information and experiences in an easy and simple way.The conscious mind and the subconscious mind:
The human being is the only one that God has distinguished from the rest of the creatures with a very great grace, which is the mind. If man has only one mind, but the work of this mind is divided into two systems, a conscious system, which analyzes and discusses all matters and controls them in terms of acceptance or rejection with complete control of the person himself Based on the information he obtains through all his senses of hearing, sight, touch, smell and taste, and he stores the information for a very short time in what is called short-term memory.
And the second system, which is the unconscious system, which contains a larger store of information that the first system passed to it, which is conscious, to settle in the long-term memory and take a storage space in the memory, through which convictions, beliefs and memories are formed from childhood.
It manages more than 95% of human life, as it contains a broad and very powerful database, which is a summary of experiences and knowledge for many years. By obtaining new information, it automatically leaks from the conscious system to the subconscious without our intervention and is reused when needed, such as the one that occurred with repeated learning. Leadership, by repeatedly using it, the subconscious system stored it and retrieved it when necessary to the extent that the conscious system did not realize it and how it happened..
I wish you all the best 💓
